The Heart Shape
A heart shaped face has a narrow jaw and is wider at the forehead and /or the cheek bones. It is wide at the temples and hairline with a small delicate chin.
The triangular shape is an inverted heart shaped face. Your face is broad and square at the jaw line with a relatively narrow forehead.
The Round Shape
Round shaped faces are pretty much symmetrical all
the way around. A round face is as wide as it is long with soft, round edges. The distance between the top and bottom is equal to the distance between
the cheeks with full, round features and very few or no angles. This may vary a little but generally the measurement is close.
The Square Shape
A square shaped face is strong with a square jaw
line and an equally square hairline. The
distance between the top and bottom of the face is equal to the distance
between the cheeks with a square jaw line. The difference between a square face and a round
face lies in the angles.
Earrings with a round or oval shape will work well because it will help to soften a square face. It is best to avoid square shapes. Other than that you can wear just about any type of earring. Hoops, ovals and curved edges will add the necessary roundness while drop earrings, long tear drops or dangling earrings will give your face shape some length.
The Oval Shape
An oval face has a length that is equal to one and
a half times the width. The forehead flows into high cheekbones with a
softly rounded chin.
This is a classic shape that will work with almost any style of earring. You will look great if you were earrings with soft shapes like ovals and teardrops. It is best to avoid wearing very long and thin earrings.
The Oblong Shape
The
oblong is a long face shape that may look like a long oval or more rectangular
if the jaw line is more angular. A long face
shape is longer than it is wide, a rectangular is the same just with a more
angular appearance.
A rectangular shaped face is long and slim,
about the same width at the forehead and just below the cheekbones. Rectangular
face shapes may have a very narrow chin or a very high forehead.
To widen this face shape
wear oval, circular, triangular with the point facing upwards and square earrings. You are also advised to wear simple studs and chandelier style earrings. However,
remember to avoid flat or dangling earrings.
The Diamond Shape
The diamond face shape is a cross between a heart shape and an oval shape. A diamond face shape is at its widest at the cheekbones and narrows equally at the forehead and jaw line. The face appears to be longer than wider and it is balanced and dramatic.
Short
and wide earrings like small drop or dangle earrings will suit you well. It is best
to avoid long and thin earrings.
